Re: Problemas con Impresora Canon Pixma iP1700 SOLUCIONADO

Al pasarme de Guadalinex 4 al 6 me vi obligado a buscar nuevos controladores para mi impresora Canon Pixma iP1700, cosa que no me resultó difícil conseguir, pues en un par de días buscando por la red los conseguí y los instalé; pero tras usarla un par de semanas sin problemas, la máquina se me ha quedado atascada en Linux, y no he logrado hacerla andar de nuevo, por lo que me veo obligado a pasar todos mis trabajos de impresión al Windows xp de mi otra partición de mi laptop, o bien al Windows 2000 del ordenador de mi hijo.
Si bien no me es imprescindible imprimir en Linux, me gustaría que me echaran una mano para poder hacerlo, por que de ello depende en mi casa el buen nombre que he logrado hacerle al sistema del pingüino...
Cada vez que intento imprimir, la impresora se queda parada, y a pesar de ello me salta un globito indicando que la impresión ya fue realizada. Por si fuera útil, en mi último intento de impresión el programa de resolución de problemas generó el siguiente informe:

paso 1- desde firefox -> http://localhost:631/printers intenta modificar las opciones de la impresora.
si no consigues hacerla funcionar
paso 2- desinstala y vuelvela a instalar desde Sistema-Administra-Impresoras,
o desde http://localhost:631/admin/
En http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Canon-ip1700 hay información sobre esa impresora

Al final desinstalé la impresora, y estuve mucho tiempo imprimiendo desde Windows, pero hoy tomé ánimos para arreglar el desaguisado, y encontré la siguiente página donde me brindaron la solución (y los controladores!):

Por fin tengo mi Canon Pixma iP1700 funcionando... ya nada más me queda arreglar lo del scanner, que no existen drivers específicos, y lo de mi tarjeta pcmcia II, que al pasarme de Guadalinex 4.2 a Guadalinex 6 también dejó de funcionarme... pero eso lo dejaré para otro post, ya que este parece que ha quedado solucionado de forma definitiva.
¡Ah! Se me olvidaba señalar: la solucionan que proporcionan en esa página es válida no sólo para la Canon Pixma iP1700, si no que también vale para los modelos iP1300 e iP1600, y a mi me sacó las castañas del fuego tanto en Guadalinex 4.2 como ahora en Guadalinex 6, por lo que creo que también vale para los Ubuntus respectivos desde el 6.06 hasta el 9.04, y supongo que para los Linux Mint, Max, Molinux, etc... equivalentes a esas versiones de Ubuntu.
Sólo me queda añadir que con Guadalinex 6, pese a esos detalles, todo me va mucho mejor que con el Windows xp que traía preinstalado mi ordenador... ¿Existe alguna compañía que se haya animado a vender ordenadores con Guadalinex preinstalado?
